Bihar TET examination – Eligibility criteria
If you want to apply for the Bihar TET examination, you must ensure that you have satisfied the following eligibility conditions.
For primary school level teachers
- You must have passed the class 10 examination with an aggregate of 45% marks or equivalent.
- You should have passed a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks with a B.Ed. Degree.
- You may also apply if you are appearing in the final year of a Diploma in Special Elementary or Diploma in Education or Bachelor in Elementary Education
For upper primary-level teachers
- You must have passed or appeared for bachelor’s courses with a minimum of 45% marks are eligible.
- You can also apply if you have appeared or passed senior secondary or B. Ed. with a minimum of 50% marks
- You can also apply if you have a 4-year bachelor’s degree with 50% marks
- Candidates with a graduate with 50% marks and one-year D.El. Ed is also eligible to appear.
- You may also appear for the examination if you are appearing for B. Ed. or the 2nd year diploma in Elementary Education or the second year diploma in Education in Special Education

Bihar TET examination – The exam pattern
The examination pattern for the Bihar TET examination is on the same lines as the other TET examinations conducted by the different states
- You will need to answer two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Those wishing to be the teachers for the primary level can appear for paper 1 only.
- Each paper will have 150 marks and need to be answered in 150 minutes
- The examination will be of multiple choice type
- There are no negative marks for the wrong answers
- The exam is held in the offline mode
