The Haryana teacher eligibility test or HTET test is a state-level examination conducted by the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH). It is conducted for those desirous of being teachers in the primary and upper primary schools in the state of Haryana. The exam is held in three levels of the HTET exam, namely Level 1 for Primary Teachers (Class 1 to 5), Level 2 for Trained Graduate Teachers (Class 6 to 8), and Level 3 for Post Graduate Teachers (PGT – Class 9 to 12).

HTET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Age limits – The candidates appearing for the HTET TGT or PGT Teaching Faculty posts must have attained the minimum age of 18 years. The upper age limit is 38 years
Educational criteria –
HTET Educational Qualification for Primary Teacher (Level 1)
- You should have completed your senior secondary examination with at least 50% from a recognized board and must have passed in 2 years of Diploma of Elementary Education
- Candidates who have passed 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) are also eligible
- Those appearing in the final year of D.El.Ed or B.Ed can also apply
HTET Educational Qualification for Trained Graduate Teacher (Level 2)
- Should have completed undergraduate in a relevant stream and have passed or appeared in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Cleared undergraduate in a relevant stream with a minimum of 50% marks and have completed or pursued a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Graduate in an appropriate stream with at least 45% and have completed or pursued 1- a year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

FAQs
How many papers do I have to appear in HTET?
There are three papers that the candidates need to appear for – Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3. Check the eligibility conditions for the three papers. You can appear only for papers 1, or for papers 1 and 2, or all three papers.
How many attempts are allowed in the Haryana TET examination?
You can appear as many times as you would wish. There is no limit as long as you do not cross the upper age limit
